Measure Up!

PBS KIDS Measure Up! is designed to teach preschool children about measurement and contains three “adventures” that kids can complete with favorite PBS KIDS characters from Dinosaur Train, Peg + Cat, and Sid the Science Kid. Each adventure focuses on a unique measuring concept:

Tree Top City: this adventure takes place in an enchanted forest and includes games, videos, and embedded assessment activities related to length and height.

Crystal Caves: this adventure occurs in caverns and mine shafts with sunken pirate ships and treasure. Measure the treasure and learn about the concept of weight.

Magma Peak: follow lava rivers to a forgotten city. Find the right-sized vessels to contain the fast-flowing lava and learn about the concept of capacity.

Additional app features for kids:

Rewards: as kids play through each adventure they recover lost pieces of three mysterious statutes. Play to find out more about each statute. (Hint: the statues are of favorite PBS KIDS characters.)

Statue Island: this hidden island appears once kids complete their first adventure. This is where kids can come to visit their statues and their stickerbook prizes.

Stickerbooks: once kids complete an adventure they can unlock stickerbooks on Statue Island. There are four unique stickerbooks, each containing multiple backgrounds and stickers of beloved characters.

And there are features for grownups too:

Measure Up! is compatible with the PBS KIDS Super Vision app for parents. Super Vision is a smartphone-based app that enables parents to be aware of what their child is playing and watching in the Measure Up! app by providing summaries of games played, videos watched, and math skills covered in the games and videos.
